SO MANY PROUD, BRAVE WOMEN AND MEN;
FOUGHT A WAR THEY COULDN’T WIN.

THEIR HANDS BEHIND THE BACK WERE TIED;
HAVE ENEMY IN SIGHT, REQUEST TO FIRE, “REQUEST DENIED”.

SENT ON MISSIONS THAT WERE NOT ALLOWED;
“WE’VE NEVER BEEN THERE THE GOVERNMENT VOWED”.

ALL P.O.W.’S AREHOME THE PAPERS READ;
THEY REPLIED TO THE SMALL NUMBERS “ALL OTHER ARE DEAD”.

FORGET THE WAR, GET ON WITH YOUR LIFE;
THE VIETNAM WAR WAS JUST TROUBLE AND STRIFE.

THAT’S EASY TO SAY MR. PRESIDENT, YOU DIDN’T GO;
YOU DIDN’T FIGHT, AND YOU JUST DON’T KNOW.

WE WILL TELL THE WORLD OF THE LIES AND THE SHAME;
WE WILL TELL OF THE WAR AND YOUR DIRTY LITTLE GAMES.

THE GOVERNMENT LINED THEIR POCKETS WITH SILVER AND GOLD;
WHILE MANY DIED AND THE OTHERS TURNED COLD.

YOU DENIED P.T.S.D. SAID IT DIDN’T EXIST;
AND FROM AN AGENT ORANGE COURT BATTLE WE GOT A LIST.

IF YOU HAVE THE SYMPTOMS YOU MUST FIGHT AGAIN;
FOR A DROP IN THE BUCKET IF YOU FINALLY DO WIN.

THE V.A. HOSPITALS ARE FULL TO THE BRIM;
HE NEEDS OPEN HEART SURGERY, “NO ROOM FOR HIM”.

BUT YOU CONTINUE TO FIGHT IN WAR AFTER WAR;
WHEN THIS ONES NOT OVERS AND WE KNOW THE SCORE.

WE RECOGNIZE THE ENEMY, THE TARGETS IN SIGHT;
WE WON’T ASK PERMISSION TO FIRE OR TO FIGHT.

WITH TRUTH AND WITH KNOWLEDGE, WE’LL SETTLE THE SCORE;
SO OUR CHILDREN WON’T FIGHT ANOTHER VIETNAM WAR.
