CLEAR BLUE SKY ALL AROUND
HERE AM I IN VIETNAM.

FREEDOM AND PEACE WAS MY CALL
NEITHER IS HERE, JUST WAR THAT’S ALL.

I LIVE IN FEAR, I WALK THE SAME.
NO COMFORT HERE, JUST DEATH AND PAIN.

I CAN NOT EAT, NOR CAN I SLEEP.
I PRAY AT NIGHT, SOMETIMES I WEEP.

SOME MAKE IT HOME, HOPE I’LL BE ONE.
MARKING THE DAYS TILL TIME IS DONE.

THE ONLY THING THAT I HOLD DEAR,
FRIENDS I FOUND AMONG THE FEAR.

NO ONE WILL KNOW WHAT WE’VE BEEN THRU,
ONLY THOSE WHO FOUGHT THIS SAME WAR TOO.
